After introduced in 2002 Monster quickly found its self as the number two most popular energy drink right behind red bull. While most know montser sells energy and thrills, but who owns the company.

Monster Energy is a public company Predominantly owned by other public companies and institutional investors.

The largest holder is the Coca-Cola Company with 19.6%, Vanguard Fiduciary Trust follows at 6.2%, Brandon L.P %.6%, AllainaceBernstein LP 4.4% and Blackrock Advisors LLC 3.9% round out the top 5. Monster Energy is intuitionally owned.

History of Monster Energy Ownership

Monster Energy was created in 2002 by Hansen Natural Company. Hansen was founded in 1935 in California and started by selling natural juices. After many years in business, a couple manufacturing facilities and a bankruptcy Hansen’s went public in 1990. This was 12 years prior to the release of Monster.

By 2012 energy drinks were the largest segment of the company by a wide margin. The company changed their name to Monster Beverage Corporation completing the pivot from health food to energy drinks.
